Why Slovakia needs Poland partner?
While Animal Assisted Therapy has been adopted by a multitude of other European countries , the focus in our work is on the Poland, one of its pioneering countries.
The aim is to describe and understand the development of the care sector through Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT) in Poland and to contribute to the discussion on how to support changes in this area in Slovakia.
As examples from Poland partner country show, Animal Assisted Therapy can, in conjunction with state, health and social care instructions, social partners and the educational sector, provide possible solutions in eny areas. These solutions should not be seen as competition to existing (social, medical) institutions, but rather as the creation of high quality complementary offers. Existing health care plans and strategies will be taken into account.
Currently we are preparing for the project workshops which will take place in Warsaw in April 2022. Starting our first face-to-face meeting in the project Erasmus+.
We will visit Klinika Budzik (for children in a coma) Drewnica Hospital (psychiatric ward) Kindergarten for autistic children Alzheimer’s center.
As leaders of Project Result we will take care of Photo and video documentation regarding Animal Assisted Therapy in these institutions.
All of Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT) is a massive challenge for society, the world of work and the health and social system in Slovakia.
